Biography
Cutler Real Estate asked Tondalaya a few questions so you can get to know her better, and here are Tondalaya's replies.
1. What is your professional/educational background?
I attended The Ohio State University with a major in Accounting and a minor in Fashion. I pursued a career in the retail industry where I refined my skills in merchandising, marketing and sales while building meaningful relationships with clients. I was helping others invest in their wardrobe, when one day I realized I could help people invest in themselves in a much larger and possibly more meaningful way. I acquired my real estate license in 2004 and hit the ground running. Aside from being a real estate agent, I also renovate homes.
2. Why did you choose a career in real estate?
Many factors played into this decision. I needed to take another look at my career in retail. The hours were no longer working with my lifestyle of being a new mom, but I knew I wanted to continue working with people and bring some joy to their lives. Some of the clients I worked with had careers in real estate and enjoyed it. I have a keen eye for detail and have always been drawn towards design, specifically fashion and interior design. So it seemed like a natural progression in my career, to challenge myself in a new direction while staying true to what I enjoy the most: people and design.
3. What area do you live in currently and what do you like about where you live?
I have roots in many neighborhoods in Columbus and I think each neighborhood has something special to offer. I currently live in Grandview with my family. I love the accessibility to greater Columbus, it is close to my children's school and has a great community.
4. How do you spend your free time?
I enjoy renovating houses/apartments, traveling and spending time with my three sons and husband.
5. In one word, how do you think your friends/family would describe you?

Tonda is a top-notch professional who sees the highest potential of a house and helps the sellers to achieve that potential. And she does this with humor, thoughtfulness, and graciousness, communicating and guiding along the way. Tonda added thoughtful touches both to our house and to her interactions with us. She had a lot of good ideas and a lot of suggestions, yet always made sure we were in the driver's seat and empowered to make the decisions. She works with an array of excellent, cost-effective service providers who assisted to make our house market-ready. The sale price was beyond our expectations.
Tonda also facilitated finding the ideal new home for us. She listened carefully and knew what to look for on the market. Her advice was always on point. She is generous with her time. We hope not to buy and sell again, but if we do, we're going with Tonda Adiansingh for sure!

Bottom line, Tonda is professional and results oriented. However, what is more important is Tonda is able to wrap these with compassion and patience. Her superpower is her presence. She was always present, at the right moment, with the right information, and she delivered what was needed each time with the right emotions.

I was referred to Tonda, after deciding to make a big move from Orlando to Columbus. I began my search from Florida and Tonda was a dream to work with from day one. She was amazing with communication! Tonda listened to what I was looking for and sent me listings that I was excited about. From start to finish, working with Tonda to sell my house in Grove City, Ohio, was a great experience. Selling a home can be stressful, but Tonda made it easy, smooth, and organised. I appreciated her excellent communication. She was always there for me —quick to respond and proactive. I always felt informed and supported, whether she was answering my questions, explaining things, or keeping me updated on every step of the process.
The sale went very quickly. Tonda worked quickly, prepared a professional listing, and sold my house faster than I expected. It made a big difference that she knew a lot about the market and could help me make meaningful choices. She didn't hesitate when things got tough. Tonda listened to us about what we wanted, found many properties for us to see and taught us a lot about older homes. Tonda was an excellent agent to work with. Her local and deep knowledge of the market and neighborhoods was a real plus. She provided great guidance and insight into particular homes and how to approach value of bidding. Tonda was able to help us navigate challenges/issues with the homes we explored, and what made sense in terms of accepting item, and what to push back on. She was very responsive and easy to communicate with. She stayed involved with us after the sale to help with changes we needed to make to the home, providing vendors and ideas.
